Humans curious about whether we are alone in the universe may be searching for the wrong thing, according to some experts who believe the search for alien life should focus on alien artificial intelligence. "We ourselves are very close to realizing artificial general intelligence (AGI), and there's an expectation that once you reach that point, it can then accelerate away at a very fast rate and quickly outstrip ourselves in intelligence," Eamonn Kerins, an astrophysicist and Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) researcher at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics at the University of Manchester, said in a Space.com According to the report, there's a growing thought among scientists that if humans ever were to make contact with an alien life, it may come in the form of a computer. The thought revolves around an event known as the "singularity," which Space.com explains is a mathematics term that "signifies a point where our knowledge of math and physics breaks down, and we can no longer accurately characterize what we're trying to describe." When it comes to computer science, the singularity would describe the moment when AI technology develops so fast that it experiences runaway growth and forms a superintelligence that humans would lack the ability to understand or explain.

Whenever I have had the displeasure of interacting with an obtuse online customer service bot or an automated phone service, I have come away with the conclusion that whatever "intelligence" I have just encountered was most certainly artificial and not particularly smart, and definitely not human. Recently, an engineer at the tech giant's Responsible AI organisation carried the chatbot to global headlines after claiming that he reached the conclusion that it is not merely a highly sophisticated computer algorithm and it possesses sentience – ie, the capacity to experience feelings and sensations. To prove his point, Blake Lemoine also published the transcript of conversations he and another colleague had with LaMDA. In response, the engineer has been suspended and put on paid leave for allegedly breaching Google's confidentiality policies.

Few could have predicted that in 2022, technology would have developed so quickly, that we could rely on A.I. and robots to create life. While the motivations behind this advancement were noble, it opens up a terrifying scenario only previously seen in science fiction, in which humans no longer have the only say in the course of life on Earth. On the plus side, humanity is about to get more bacon than it could ever dream of, which many might consider a worthy trade-off. This scientific insanity, of course, comes from China, which apparently has never seen the Terminator films, and which has not had the best track record recently in predicting the consequences of scientific research, particularly, with new viruses.

Well, the term "Xenobot" isn't brand new but was reported in 2020 as the tiny "programmable" living things made of several thousand frog stem cells. Since then, Xenobots have been in the global headlines because of the evolutions shown by them. In 2020, scientists created the first-ever living, programmable robot by assembling frog cells. These pioneer Xenobots could move around in fluids, and scientists claimed they could be useful for monitoring radioactivity, pollutants, drugs, or diseases.



Speculations: 3 – Artificial Intelligence

In recent times, many theorists have speculated on the possibility of the creation of some sort of artificially created intelligence, that is, some form of intelligence which has been manufactured instead of developed through organic evolution. They have considered various ways artificial intelligence could manifest itself, though most of them are related through some development with computers, whether or not such intelligence will be found contained within a computer, or some sort of machine with a computer brain (like an android). What is difficult is to determine when such intelligence has been developed. What would constitute such an intelligence? Many, if not most, suggest that it is when the construct is said to be self-aware, and through that self-awareness, has developed some sort of free will so that it can interact with the world, not through necessity such as is found in coding, but through its own transcendent initiative.
